  Finished Mystery (1917)... The book that Jesus approved...

  so a few months ago, a friend sent me an actual copy of finished mystery which was published in 1917 (not a pdf download... the actual book).

  i must say, this was the most disturbing book i have ever had the displeasure of reading.

  but i only read it because this was the main publication that was being distributed worldwide when jesus supposedly chose the watchtower in 1918 and i basically wanted to see for myself what jesus saw in the wt that would compel him to choose this religious corporation over all other religious denominations.. anyway, if anyone is interested in knowing the actual contents of this book, here are some bullet points i put together from some of the notes i took as i read the book:.

  When you read the book, it sounds like the WT: clear lunacy (if lunacy can be clear)

  #28 made me cry, when I read @ the adjustments made for the "Hoboken Tunnel"

  sister pioneer, always thinking of how to expose false religion and promote true worship, finds out that many mormons are becoming disillusioned with the mormon faith because of the revelations being exposed on the internet.

  if it is exposing the mormons, it would help to expose other false religions.she puts two and two together and comes up with a plan.. after the next meeting she asks the boe to meet with her at the back room..   It is all so familiar, as it is repeated over and over, so often, that it is writtten in their brains.... No thinking needed, just repeat.

  Yes, yes, and triple yes.

  Talesin: So sad that parents can actually do that to their children, and WT exacerbates the pain by supporting the torture.

  LostGen : You did hit the nail on the head… “Information Control” is what WT is all about! The sheep would flee the barn if they knew it was burning down.

  Crazyguy: excellent point about people getting DF’d when they discovered lies in doctrines. Remember those two Irish JW’s who came to the US to talk to the GB in person when they heard about Ray Franz being DF’d, and they wanted to know why? They could hardly get one minute, let alone one word from the GB after all their time, love and expense was invested in trying to ‘save and help’ their brother.

  Steve2 : “ To the one who has been abusive and can now also shun, the act of shunning the victim has a particularly cruel edge”… What is sad to find out, is that the only time the WT cares about you…. is if the checks stop coming….

  And yes, sad to say, prologos… shunning does seem to lift some people’s worthless self image….

  What I am glad for today, is that all of us can come together, support each other, help & comfort each other in spite of the Watchtower. We have escaped!

  steve: Turning away and blocking one's ears ensures the survival of ignorance. Religious and political beliefs thrive on fear and...ignorance. Look at North Korea.

  My experience today reminded me of this.... I was at a store, with my DF'd husband, and saw a family we knew. He wanted to say 'hi', and altho I am a friendly person, 'never going to give in to the dark side' & be like the WT, I couldn't bring myself to go up to them and say hi.

  Because the WT uses this shunning tactic to hide the truth, and punish the innocent to protect their ass-ets, I knew that if they 'shunned me,' turned their back to me, I would have gotten very mad, and let them have it.

  I would have told the whole story behind the attack on our family.... down to the detail!

  justmenow.... I agree... I view 'DF'ing' as blackmail.

  We once spoke to an old friend who was DF'd, and he was nervous at first, but then, as we explained our comfortableness with this, he was also comfie, and we hope to keep our relationship going.

  sowhatnow.... I don't know, my sis (an 'uber-doober') would say "don't even eat with such a one".... she is sooo messed up.

  Thank you both, flipper & AEW....

  In the weeks leading up to the DFing, even tho the new 'silver sword'had been received, the 'bro' used the reference bible, so he could give the the 'mentally diseased' 'hate speech talk.'

  One in my family views it this way: "The people at the hall think they show "love by shunning." His response is, "Love by education."

  Two days ago, he had a 35 minute conversation with a witness, the first 5 were akward, "Did you know I was DF'd?" but, the 30 minutes after left both with their dignity. Each expressed love for each other, and the active witness is determined to find out all the facts about child abuse issues.

  This family member is hopeful that there are several active witnesses on the verge of a "crisis of conscience" and will be joining in the stand against the WT.

  The other DF'd family members have not had any positive experiences thus far.

  I am not DF'd, but have been treated very 'differently.'

  i found out that my husband has not only gone to the elders, but has been going to members of my family about me over a period of a few years.

  this piece of news is just so depressing.

  i've been wondering how my family knew i didn't go and thats why so many of them have becoming more and more distant.

  This is so maddening, I feel for you.

  I want to be sarcastic, and make comments like: "Oh, I feel so loved by God, and this convinces me it is the truth!" and "I think I'll start going back to meetings right now!" with a followup of: "I wonder what blackmail is?"

  The people left in are getting more and more "obedient".. How is this any different than Hitler & the Nazis?

  Make sure that you make friends with other people outside of this terribly mean organization.
